Our company's sole focus is one thing – to keep us all safe, without burying everyone in paperwork.

Terry Walters is a NEBOSH, Environmentally and Train the Trainer Qualified Health and Safety Consultant who has over 21 years of experience since his first qualification.

Originally from the UK where Terry undertook his training, he has benefited from his qualifications working in high-risk sectors such as Aerospace (who via the MOD had a license to work with asbestos), Class B Drug Manufacturing, Construction, Developing and Implementing extraction systems across a 200,000 square foot building to control hazardous dust - Crystaline Silica.

He has worked in retail, office environments, tourism and entertainment.

Terry moved to Jersey in 2015, working for JTC Safety Solutions as Lead Consultant.

Late in 2020, Terry and his wife decided to take the big step to move to France pre-Brexit to obtain residency. With Jersey and UK clients still asking for his services, prior to his arrival in France, he had set up this company, fully registered in France as a Self Employed H&S Consultant and therefore, he sub-contracts his services into his Jersey and UK clients fully insured.

With a role that requires a lot of time working via laptops and online, and with Microsoft Meetings etc that assist this type of role, Terry is still returning to the island every 6-8 weeks to meet clients, audit sites, deliver training etc. But flexibility is key, so if a return is needed earlier, or for longer periods then that’s how Terry works …….it’s all client-dependent.

Currently busier than ever, 75% of Terry’s work is Acting as Health and Safety Project Coordinator (HSPC) for clients or Principal Contractors, simply based on his approach to the role and relationships with all his clients to help, change cultures, think differently and take ownership. See our next page on the role of HSPC.

No one wants Laws bleating to them, Health and Safety is 80% common sense, 20% Laws, Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice which have to be complied with.

But Terry’s approach is – make it suitable, user friendly, compliant and easy to understand and most of all be helpful………….Health and Safety is not an obstacle if the approach is sensible.
